Eclipse + Your Eyes
The only safe way to look directly at the uneclipsed, partially eclipsed, or annularly eclipsed sun is through solar filters, such as “eclipse glasses” with the transmittance requirements of the ISO 12312-2 international standard. Without these special filters, looking at the sun can cause permanent blindness! Ordinary sunglasses, even very dark ones, are not safe for looking at the sun; they transmit far more sunlight than is safe for our eyes.. Eclipse glasses are available for purchase on Amazon: Amazon.com : eclipse glasses nasa approved 2024
